HOW TO GET THERE
We’ve listed a few instructions and some information to help you get to the Festivaali area. We’d also like to remind you that you can exchange your ticket for a wristband before the event during the festival week. This way you can skip all the queues when coming to the area.

Address: Jalkasaarentie 3, 33230 Tampere

Festival area opening hours:
Friday 22 August from 3 pm to 2 am (closing announced at 1:30 am)
Saturday 23 August from 2 pm to 2 am (closing announced at 1:30 am)

On foot
The Pyynikki Summer Theatre, the festival venue, is some 2 kilometres from the centre of Tampere. You can easily walk from the city centre to the festival area through the beautiful Pyynikki trail meandering by the lake Pyhäjärvi. If you arrive from Pyynikki or Pispala, we recommend that you walk along Pyynikintie all the way to Jalkasaarentie.

By bike
A bicycle is the probably the best way to get to the festival area in Pyynikki. We offer free bicycle parking in the upper parking area of Rosendahl beach. You can easily find your way by navigating to: Jalkasaarentie 2, 33230 Tampere. Note that the bicycle parking area is not guarded, and Festivaali assumes no responsibility for parked bicycles.

By electric scooter
If you arrive by electric scooter, please park it properly in the Festivaali bicycle parking area, also considering other vehicle users.

By bus
You can also easily get to the festival area by bus. Bus number 10 operates between the central square and the festival area. Buses pass by the festival area along Pyynikintie. The nearest stop is right next to the festival area in front of Scandic Rosendahl. Bus number 10 starts from the Hämeenkatu stop in the city centre: Keskustori C. Check schedules and routes here: https://www.nysse.fi/en/schedules-and-routes.html

By tram
The tram operates normally during the festival weekend. For customers arriving by tram number 1 from Hervanta or Santalahti (also from the city centre, Tammela, Kaleva and Amuri), the nearest stop is on the Pyynikintori square, some 1.1 km from the festival area. For more information about tram schedules and routes, please visit https://www.tampereenratikka.fi/en/ and https://www.nysse.fi/en/schedules-and-routes.html

By car
The number of parking spaces near the festival area is very limited, and Festivaali has no separate parking area for cars. Only artist and disabled parking is permitted in the parking area near the festival area. If you require a disabled parking space, please email info@altagency.fi.

We recommend Festivaali customers to come to the event on foot, by bike or using public transport.

By taxi
The taxi stand closest to the festival area is at the top of Jalkasaarentie: Jalkasaarentie 1, 33230 Tampere. It is roughly 200 m from the festival area.

WRISTBANDS
During the festival week, tickets can be exchanged for wristbands in advance at Olympia. Exact service hours will be announced later. One- and two-day wristbands will only be handed over to ticket holders and placed directly around the wrist. With the one-day wristband, you can leave the festival area and get back in during the same day.

The wristband exchange station next to the main gate will open one hour before the festival opening hours: at 2 pm on Friday and at 1 pm on Saturday. However, we recommend that you exchange your ticket for a wristband before the event to avoid any queueing.

CLOAKROOM
A voluntary cloakroom is available next to the main gain outside the festival area. The price is €3 per visit. No fee will be charged when you pick up all your items from the cloakroom. The cloakroom will open and close at the same time as the festival area. Please leave all forbidden items in the cloakroom, unless you discard them otherwise.

Note: You cannot leave any items in the cloakroom overnight, as they will be considered lost&found items after the event.

For lost items, contact the cloakroom during the event. After the event, lost&found items will be transferred to Pirkanmaan löytötavaratoimisto (Lost Property Office of Pirkanmaa) (Suvantokatu 10, 33100 Tampere, tel. +358 600 300758).

FORBIDDEN ITEMS
You will have to pass through a security check when entering the festival area. To refresh your memory, we’ve listed all the items that are not permitted in the area:

DO NOT bring to the festival area:
- Your own beverages. You can bring an empty water bottle (including an aluminium flask).

- Items or substances that can be used to harm other people, put the safety of others at risk or are illegal. These include sharp knives, narcotic substances, multitools, inflammable and explosive chemicals, flares, firearms and other generally hazardous items. We will always report any illegal items or substances found during the security check to the police.

- Parasols and umbrellas, tents, canopies, camping tables and chairs, as well as other similar items that may block another festivalgoer’s view, pose a falling risk, or present any other hazards to people at the festival. Furthermore, air mattresses or inflatable seats are not permitted in the area.

- Selfie sticks and camera tripods. However, you can bring your camera to the area.

- Glassware.

- Pets, with the exception of guide and working dogs.

Security stewards will make a final decision on whether you can bring a specific item to the festival area. You can store your items in the cloakroom next to the festival gates.

PAYMENT

At Festivaali, we only accept cards as payment instruments. Card payments using CoreGo payment terminals are the quickest and easiest way to make payments in the festival area, also making payment processes quicker and reducing any queues. Common debit and credit cards will be accepted in all payment locations at Festivaali. Please note that we don’t accept cash at Festivaali.

ZERO TOLERANCE FOR HARASSMENT
Festivaali has zero tolerance for all forms of harassment. We do not accept any discrimination, racism, violence, abuse or violation of integrity. As an organisation, we take this very seriously and will do our best to ensure that no conduct described above can take place at Festivaali. If you run into any problems, you can approach any Festivaali employee or steward during the event.

Selja Schellhammer will be the Festivaali harassment contact person this year as well. Selja will work and patrol in the festival area, and you can recognise her from her red high-visibility vest.  You can reach the harassment contact person by contacting the nearest security steward or members of the Festivaali staff or by calling Selja directly (+358 40 355 3041).

In the festival area, you can talk to the harassment contact person in a quiet environment. The harassment contact person will provide support in investigating any harassment cases, and we cannot stress it enough that all cases will be dealt with confidentially. You can also email Selja during or after the event: hairintayhdyshenkilo.festivaali@securitas.fi.

We want to provide everyone with an equal opportunity to enjoy Festivaali. Let’s make Festivaali a place where everyone can feel safe!

Our partner Securitas Events is responsible for safety at Festivaali.

ACCESSIBILITY

The festival area around Pyynikki Summer Theatre is not completely accessible due to lawns and the uneven terrain. The festival will be held completely outdoors, with the second stage (Pispala) being in a lawn area and the trail leading to the amphitheatre having a gravel surface.

The main stage (Pyynikki) is in a wholly paved area. There are elevated stands in front of the main stage, and there is an accessible toilet in its immediate vicinity. In addition, accessible toilets are available in all toilet areas at Festivaali.

Customers with disabilities can park their car in the parking area near the festival area. If you require a disabled parking space, please email info@altagency.fi.

Assistants have free access to the festival area with the person they assist. The assistant must accompany the person assisted when exchanging tickets for wristbands so that wristbands can be placed around both persons’ wrists at the same time. The need for an assistant must be proven with the EU Disability Card or medical certificate.

KEEP THE AREA CLEAN

Do not litter! Together, we can make sure that the unique festival area in Pyynikki stays clean and enjoyable – place rubbish in the correct bin.

There are several waste stations in the festival area with bins for most common types of waste: biowaste, energy waste, paperboard, metal, glass and plastic. Cleaning teams will keep the festival area clean, and they will be happy to help you sort waste correctly. At Festivaali, we will also hand out portable ashtrays at the merchandise station.

Here at Festivaali, we are aware of our impact on the environment. We seek to actively promote and develop more sustainable events. Let’s make sure that waste is sorted and recycled effectively at Festivaali. Let’s leave the Pyynikki Summer Theatre area in a better condition than it was before us!
